Technical committee

The Technical Committee establishes safety standards for scuba diving in Mauritius and Rodrigues, from beginner to instructor trainer level.

Mixing commission

The mixing commission establishes safety standards for diving with gas blends under the jurisdiction of the technical committee.

Scientific commission

The Scientific Committee collaborates with the Mauritius Marine Conservation Society (MMCS), a leading organization in underwater archaeology research and marine environmental preservation, as well as with the Marine Megafauna Conservation Organisation (MMCO), which focuses on scientific research and the welfare of marine megafauna, including cetaceans, elasmobranchs (sharks and rays), and sea turtles.

Sports commission & Audiovisual commission

The Scientific Commission, in collaboration with the MMCS, is at the forefront of research in Underwater Archaeology and in the preservation of the marine environment. Zimaz Dil’o is the national championship.

The MSDA organized the CMAS World Underwater Photography Championship with 27 teams from 16 nations across 4 continents.
