Objectives
National Diving Federation of Mauritius
It regulates scuba diving in Mauritius and Rodrigues. MSDA actively works towards the preservation of the marine environment.

Its History
Established at the request of the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Honorable Michaël GLOVER, to consolidate into a single National Federation affiliated with a World Confederation all associations involved in the sport of scuba diving.
MSDA becomes a member of the World Confederation of Underwater Activities, CMAS, founded in 1959 in Monaco under the Presidency of Commander Cousteau.
Officially recognized as the National Federation of Scuba Diving in 1990.
MSDA is affiliated with the Technical Committee of CMAS.
MSDA diving certifications become international.
International Congress on Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine.
The Mauritius Marine Conservation Society becomes the Cultural Commission of MSDA.
The first two-star instructor training course is organized by MSDA.
MSDA is affiliated with the Scientific Committee of CMAS.
The MSDA/MMCS dossier on artificial reefs receives the Special Jury Prize at the International Grand Prix Competition for Marine Environment at UNESCO in Paris.
Screening of the best films from the World Festival of Underwater Images in Antibes.
CMAS General Assembly in Mauritius, 54 countries represented, 255 participants.
Round Table on Diving Medicine of the Indian Ocean, 120 participants (RSA, France, Réunion, Seychelles, Mauritius).
Participation in the training of 50 doctors from the Indian Ocean region in Diving Medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine.
